The first architectural project attempted in university was a residence designed for a painter on a local site in Cambridge, Ontario.
The building tries to combine a very open, functionally oriented program with the rudimentary and warm materiality of the space, by taking daylight advantages and site conditions into account for the positioning and layout of the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and studio space, with access to a private deck.
The drawings were hand drafted on mylar. The physical model was made out of bass wood. The photoshopped version was executed after the submission.
